Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by 68 runs to sweep the two-Test series, having already won the first Test in Abu Dhabi by 21 runs. Pakistan needed 119 runs on Day 5 to level the series and started well, scoring 27 runs off the first 5.5 overs. Dilruwan Perera got the first breakthrough of the day for the visitors dismissing Sarfraz Ahmed (68). Asad Shafiq completed his 11th Test hundred and was the ninth to get dismissed for 112. Pakistan lost five wickets on either side of the 173-run stand between Shafiq and Sarfraz, for 52 and 23 runs respectively. Dimuth Karunaratne was adjudicated both Man of the Match as well as the Man of the Series for his 196 in the first innings and series tally of 306 runs, respectively.
